About Slip’s Hot Dogs
By: Spencer Bomboir
Never met a guy that liked hot dogs more than my friend Slip. I can’t think of a time where the fridge wasn’t chalked full of the things.
- 1 Great Value brand Hot Dog
- 1 bun
Usually people would tell you that the brand of hot dog wouldn’t matter for a recipe like this – that’s BS. This recipe calls for Great Value (GV) hot dogs only. Top Dogs and Harvest Weiners can take a back seat, because GV dogs are the captain now.
Step by Step Instructions
Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove.
Place hot dog in the water.
Boil hotdog until desired tenderness. If you prefer a medium-rare dog, try for 5 minutes.
Remove the dog from the water. PRO TIP: be sure to save the water. Works great for soup stock or as a nice refreshing summer drink.
Slap the dog in a bun and enjoy.
